About Me
Hi, I’m Angela! I am a longtime teacher, wine-loving home cook, and proud mom to three amazing daughters. My oldest, Ashton, is a physical therapist and just recently got engaged. Camryn, my middle daughter, just graduated with her MBA and is on the job hunt. And my youngest will graduate from the University of Kentucky with her nursing degree in December 2025!
Like many families, we’ve had our share of joy, chaos, and deep heartbreak. After a tragic loss, my girls encouraged me to start writing down the recipes they grew up with... the ones that brought us together around the table through every season of life.
They’ve always told me I should’ve opened a restaurant, but teaching has been my calling for years. Still, that reminder of how short life is inspired me to finally share what I love most — food, family, wine, and connection.
And that’s how The Schmidt Table was born...a place where good food, good wine, and good stories come together.
I’m married to my husband Tony, dog mom to our spoiled dachshund Sven, and happiest when I’m cooking with a glass of wine in hand. When we’re not at home or discovering new restaurants, you can usually find us at the horse track cheering, laughing, and soaking up every moment.
