Hi, I’m Angela.
I’m a longtime teacher, a home cook who loves a good glass of wine, and a mom to three girls who somehow still prefer my kitchen over any restaurant. Cooking has always been my way of taking care of people… and honestly, my way of staying grounded.

Life has been beautiful, messy, heartbreaking, and everything in between. After losing so much this past year, cooking became the one place I could still breathe. My girls told me to start sharing the recipes they grew up with... so here we are.

The Schmidt Table is where I keep the meals we actually eat, the stories that shaped us, and the simple joy of gathering around food.
My Story
I’m from Kentucky, so food, family, and bourbon are kind of a love language here. For years, our house was the place everyone gathered...loud, hungry, and always asking what I was making. Life looks a little different now, but cooking is still how I stay connected to the people I love.

I started this blog to put all my recipes in one place for my girls… and for anyone else who wants simple, comforting meals with a little personality (and usually a glass of wine nearby). I’m not fancy. I’m not a chef. I’m just a mom who loves feeding people and making everyday meals feel special.

If you’re here, I hope you find something delicious or at least something that makes dinner a little easier.
