These Derby Day Bourbon Sliders are fast, crowd-friendly, and loaded with a sweet-smoky bourbon sauce. Perfect for Kentucky Derby parties.
If you're feeding a crowd on Derby Day, these sliders are always a good idea.
They're simple to make, easy to grab between races, and that sweet-smoky bourbon sauce takes them up a notch. The sauce has just enough bourbon flavor without being overpowering, and it pairs perfectly with juicy burgers and melty cheddar cheese.
I love putting these out with chips, beer cheese, and a few Derby drinks and calling it a party.
They're quick, they're filling, and they disappear every single time.

Ingredients
1 1/2 lb ground beef
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
12 slider buns
6 slices cheddar (optional)
1/3 cup bourbon
1/3 cup ketchup
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp Worcestershire
1 tsp Dijon
Instructions
Form 12 small patties; season with salt and pepper.
Sear patties 2–3 minutes per side; add cheese if using.
Simmer bourbon 2 minutes; stir in ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire, Dijon; simmer 5 minutes.
Brush sauce on buns and patties; serve warm.
Kentucky Tip
Make the sauce ahead—flavor improves after a few hours in the fridge.
Let's get cooking!
