Strawberries & Mascarpone Cream

Updated: Apr 12

A Simple, Elegant Dessert

Why I Love This Dessert

Valentine’s Day doesn’t need reservations, crowds, or a complicated dessert.

Some of the best ones are the simplest… the kind that feel special without trying too hard.

This is one of those.

Creamy.

Lightly sweet.

Ready in minutes.

Served in a small glass, it feels a little elevated… but still relaxed. Perfect for a quiet night in or a simple dinner at home.

And honestly… it’s just as good any time you want something easy that still feels a little special.

Two glasses of strawberry trifle with whipped cream, cookies, and mint on top. A vibrant strawberry is in the foreground. White tableware.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese, softened

  • ¼ cup powdered sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2–3 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

How to Make It

1. Make the Cream

In a bowl, gently whisk mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.

If it feels too thick, add a splash of heavy cream or milk until soft and spoonable.(Be careful not to overmix.)

2. Prep the Strawberries

Wash and slice.

If they’re not super sweet, toss with a little sugar and let them sit a few minutes.

3. Assemble

Spoon mascarpone cream into small glasses or bowls.

Top with strawberries.

Repeat layers if you want.

4. Chill (Optional)

Refrigerate 20–30 minutes for a slightly firmer texture.

Optional Add-Ons

  • Lemon zest mixed into the cream

  • A spoonful of strawberry jam

  • A drizzle of honey

  • Crushed cookies for texture

  • Fresh mint

A Few Simple Serving Ideas

Serve in:

  • Small dessert glasses

  • Coupe bowls

  • Even a simple bowl… still works

It’s one of those desserts that looks pretty no matter what.

Final Thoughts

This is the kind of dessert that doesn’t need a big moment…

It just works.

Simple.

Cozy.

And perfect for sharing.

Whether it’s Valentine’s Day or just a regular night that needs something a little sweet.
